traveling electric

Japan has the same outlets as the States, good to know. I love the chart above though... it could come in handy for other trips.

this movie is broken

"Unbelievable: Bruno wakes up in bed next to Caroline, his long time crush. But tomorrow she's off for school in France, and maybe she only granted this miracle as a parting gift for her long time friend. So tonight -- tonight is Bruno's last chance. And tonight, as it happens, Broken Social Scene, her favorite band, is throwing a big outdoor bash. Maybe if Bruno, with the help of his best pal Blake, can score tickets and give Caroline a night to remember, he can keep this miracle alive."

Well, look at that, I want this for one day for my future iphone.
"The Typography Manual has several useful features and resources for designers, including a visual type anatomy glossary, a font size ruler, an em calculator, and enough content to fill a 60-page book. It has all the essentials of a desk reference in a pocket resource. "

japanese money

New ¥1,000, ¥5,000 and ¥10,000 notes were issued in November, 2004.

The ¥1,000 note features world-renowned bacteriologist Noguchi Hideyo; the ¥5,000
note has Higuchi Ichiyo, one of Japan's earliest feminist novelists (above); the ¥10,000 notes keeps Fukuzawa
Yukichi. All three notes incorporate the latest in anti-forgery design.

The ¥5,000 (go-sen) yen note features Meiji/Taisho Period educator Nitobe Inazo (1862~1933)

The ¥10,000 (man-en) note features the Meiji Period educator Fukuzawa Yukichi (1835~1901)

The ¥1,000 (sen-en) note features the writer Natsume Soseki (1867~1916)

I'm going to JAPAN tomorrow!! I am so entirely excited! I am trying to do a slow prepare/pack so I don't miss anything. So, today I exchanged US money for Yen. Some say, bring a lot of Yen before you go, some say don't. But did you know that Japan is one of the top 5 safest countries in the world? Above are images of Yen.
